A new semester means new assignments and new work. For ISM this means research speeches and our final product. Currently, I am working on my research speech. I am taking my most recent speech and simply adding the content that has taken place since my last speech. I am going to discuss the completion of my original work but also the acquisition of a mentor and the exciting things I have learned from that. The goal of the speech is a 20-minute duration which I am confident I can achieve. In order to do so I have to remind myself to slow down at times during my speech, which has been my biggest source of error thus far.

I have acquired a mentor and my first mentor visit is next week. I am very excited to learn more about what my mentor does and how I can turn that into an original product that will come to fruition at the end of the year. The one caveat is that my first mentor visit is a zoom call. My mentor is extremely busy in the first couple of months of the year with the Super Bowl and NBA All-Star Weekend, however in the future I will be going to the Frito-Lay office in Plano.
