A New Start... Again

As I start my ISM 2 year I am nervous yet confident. I am nervous in the sense of finding a new mentor and exploring a topic and industry that I know nothing about. However I am excited to learn and expand my knowledge in the business world as a whole and see another component of business. ISM 1 has prepared me for this, and because of that experience, I am no longer nervous to talk in front of others, meet professionals, and start my new original work and final product.

Since I am a "newbie" to social media marketing I wanted to get my foot in the door by researching the basics of social media marketing. I read a couple of articles and they were very insightful. The first bullet point I read was to research your audience. Immediately I recognized this from my topic last year. When I was studying commercial real estate in ISM 1 one of the big things I had to keep in mind when making my final product, a leasing pitch, was who the target audience of my pitch was. This prior skill I used last year will hopefully prove extremely useful. Another important point was to make your posts and page look nice and presentable, no matter the platform. This made a lot of sense to me as no one wants to stare at an ugly social media. much like the dread people have when they stare at an ugly office building blocking their view.
